Starting a network marketing business is so exciting. When you first start, it's only you. Then you sponsor that first person and now, boom... you're on your way to building a team.
You can almost smell the money pouring in. Before you know it, you've sponsored a team of people and you're spending all your time managing them.
This is one of the most devastating mistakes you can make in network marketing. Now, before I continue, let me say... this makes complete logical sense that you'd want to manage your team.
Problem is, this leads most networkers to the dark-side. They stop personally recruiting and tell themselves they have to "manage" their team.
This is what I call...
One of the most damaging things you can do in your business... is to stop personally recruiting and sponsoring new people. This is the kiss of death.
Now, keep in mind, I've been in this industry of close to 30 years so I have a 30,000 ft view on this. People go into a 100% management mode and start coasting.
It seems like the right thing to do for a little while, then suddenly you notice your income dipping. Before to long, it drops out from under you.
You then try to re-focus on recruiting new people, but it's like trying to push a giant boulder up a steep hill... it's not happing. When you do go back into prospecting mode, it's rough... it's like you've lost your mojo.
I know how this feels, I see this happing all the time. I coach many top people on this very issue. Let me share with...
Here's what TOP network marketers DO... they never stop personally recruiting new people into their business. They always make time in the day for their OWN business building activities.
This way they're always in flow and in-touch with the marketplace. They're always leading by example... which causes their team to follow them, because of their ACTIONS.
It's kinda like a marriage. When you first get married everything is great, you're both in love with each other. Then come kids and you both put 100% of your focus on them.
Before you know it... you and your partner are not as close as you once were. This is why it's critical to take time everyday and focus on your partner... and strengthening that connection between you both.
