Understanding why people buy is is a good step in the right direction, don't you think?
I'd say it ranks right up at the top of the list for people seeking better results in their business building efforts.
You getting a deeper understanding of exactly why people buy…
what causes them to act…
what makes them act now versus act later…or not at all, these…
These things should be IMPORTANT TO YOU as a marketer. That's what you are in this business. You're a marketer.
I'm going to keep it super simple in this post.
Why do people buy from you?
Because they they like you.
They feel good about you. They trust you.
They overall have pleasant feelings when they think about you. That's why they do it.
Sure…they may have a need or a want with what you offer, but people buy stuff all the time they don't even want. Don't get me wrong. Better to have the combo of “I like you and I need this” than either one of those all by themselves.
A couple simple things to consider. Most people like those they are similar to. Like attracts like. If so, then simply BE more like them, and they'll like you more. It's easy to mirror someone's behavior, language, gestures and so on. You can add that into your repertoire today.
When they trust you and feel good about you, they'll want to do business with you.
Always good to remember this simple little one right here:
People buy from those they like and trust.
Journal this Today.
It's worth seriously spending 15-minutes of time on. Not a lot of time.
But…you understanding why people buy is BIG.
And…since you're in total control when it comes to WHY THEY BUY FROM YOU, you can see why you might wanna spend a few minutes working on this.
Ask yourself this question and write down the answer in your journal.
What are some of the things I can do to make people feel good about me??
Journal it. That means…pull out your journal and WRITE in it.
I'm not joking. Put that in your journal and answer it. Write a list of things you could be doing right now with your current relationships to get people to feel better about you.
“What are some of things that I can do, that I have control over that will cause people to feel good about me?”
How you treat people makes an impact. Are you cool or a selfish jerk?
Are you a good listener or prefer telling them stuff about you and how cool you are?
Do you only call when you want something or do you take the time to check in and simply see how things are going?
People like those who have genuine, real caring interest in them. Someone who has concern for you is a good thing.. when it's real. You can't fake real.
It's a simple exercise. Do it.
