In today’s insanely fast paced distraction ridden world, the “attention” economy is everything. If you're not grabbing people's attention, you're losing. Period. That's why my interview with David Ross, a network marketing heavyweight out of the UK, is a must-watch. David's story speaks for itself—over 280,000 customers and a team of more than 25,000. But it wasn’t always that way. He’s been in the game since 2009 and has watched the landscape shift dramatically.

The Evolution of Network Marketing

David and I dug deep into how network marketing has evolved over the years. The days of old-school tactics still have their place, but we both agree: if you’re not adapting, you’re dead in the water. One of the biggest shifts David has seen is in the rise of attention marketing. It's no longer enough to have a great product or service—you’ve got to get noticed.

But here’s the catch: capturing attention in today’s environment is more challenging than ever. Between the cluttered social media feeds and ever-changing algorithms, you’ve got to work smarter, not harder.

The Attention Game: Where Most People Go Wrong

David and I talked about some of the biggest mistakes people are making when trying to grab attention online. And let me tell you, a lot of people are flat-out blowing it.

One of the main points David made is that most marketers are trying to be too perfect. They’re crafting these highly polished, overly curated posts, but that’s not what gets people to stop scrolling. It’s the raw, the real, and the relatable that cuts through the noise.

Another critical error is focusing too much on selling and not enough on providing value. If your entire social media presence is one giant pitch, people will tune you out. You have to create content that draws people in and makes them want to engage with you.

How to Overcome Social Media Algorithms

Social media platforms are always changing the rules, and it feels like the deck is stacked against you. But David has found some ways to work around the algorithms.

First off, engagement is key. If you’re just throwing up content without interacting with your audience, you’re doing it wrong. Comments, likes, shares—these aren’t just vanity metrics. They’re the currency that social media algorithms trade in. The more engagement you can drive, the more visibility your content gets.

David also stressed the importance of leveraging stories and live video. These formats get priority in most social platforms and give you a better chance of getting in front of your audience.

Mastering Attention Marketing: It’s Do or Die

At the end of the day, attention marketing isn’t just a nice-to-have skill—it’s a must. You can have the best product in the world, but if you can’t get it in front of the right people, it’s worthless. David's insights are a goldmine for anyone looking to cut through the noise and win in today’s marketplace.
