When we start in network marketing, we’re told to make a list of all the people we know.
One of the challenges is…People we know.
This means the people we put on this list know who we are.
They know all the good and bad things we’ve done.
We call this our warm market because they know us.
The cold market is made up of people who DO NOT know us.
Here’s the thing…Someone that does not know you gives you power that you do not have with your warm market.
This was one of my greatest discoveries earlier in my network marketing career.
Before I discovered this, no one signed up with me when I started working in the cold market.
Once I realized when working in the cold market, you get to be whoever you want, everything changed.
This is because the people you’re talking to don’t know you.
The beautiful thing about the cold market is that you can be whoever you want.
Actors do this all the time; they’re playing a part.
So I started acting like I had my stuff together when working the cold market.
My tone, language, and authority communicated a level of energy that people believed and felt.
Again, the cold market does not know you, which gives you complete freedom.
I call this “perception is projection.” Start acting like the person you want to become when working with the cold market.
