When Is the Best Time to Follow Up
When Is the Best Time to Follow Up
Most people follow up either too late… or not at all. And in network marketing, timing can be the difference between someone joining you or drifting off and forgetting you exist.
Here’s how to follow up at the right time, every time.
1. Follow Up While You’re Still Fresh
The best time to follow up is right after the exposure when interest is highest.
Examples:
They just watched your video
They just left the Zoom
They just tried the sample
They just asked for information
Attention dies quickly. Follow up while curiosity is alive.
2. Use the 24–48 Hour Window
This is the sweet spot for most exposures.
Within 24–48 hours:
They remember what you sent
They’re still curious
Their emotion is still active
They haven’t talked themselves out of it
If you wait a week… you’re starting from zero again.
3. Match Your Timing to the Exposure
Don't follow up based on your feelings.
Follow up based on what you gave them:
Short video: Same day
Long webinar: Next morning
Sample pack: 48–72 hours
Live event: Immediately or next morning
Your exposure tells you when to follow up.
4. Get an Agreed-Upon Follow Up Time
This is the simplest way to avoid ghosting.
Say:
“When do you think you’ll have a solid 10 minutes to watch it?”
Then:
“Perfect — I’ll check back after that.”
When they choose the time, they’re more committed to actually doing it.
5. Don’t Delay Because of Fear
People wait too long because they’re afraid of:
Hearing no
Feeling pushy
Getting ignored
That fear costs you business.
Follow up is service… not pressure.
6. Follow Up Until You Get a Decision
Your goal isn’t to chase people.
Your goal is to help them come to a decision.
Yes or no are both totally fine.
Silence is not.
Wrap Up
The best time to follow up isn’t random.
It’s based on attention, timing, exposure, and professionalism.
Follow up fast.
Follow up consistently.
Follow up like someone serious about their business.
