Here are the three simple things to do:#1: Be consistent. It starts with consistency. This means that you’re making a post on your social media at least once a day. This means you’re posting on all your platforms, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc. Pretty simple, right? Ok, next is…#2: Your post should be interesting. A good question to ask yourself is this… “Is my audience going to find this post interesting?” When you make that post, note the engagement level you get from it. Then study what’s working so you can repeat it. If the post got very little engagement, take note, so you don’t make this type of post again. Another thing I recommend is to look at other people’s posts to see what your market is engaging with. This will give you some great ideas for types of posts that create engagement. And…
#3: Ask for engagement. When I do a social media post, I’m asking for engagement at least 80% of the time if possible. A straightforward way to do this is by asking a question. If you want an answer, you simply need to ask. Asking questions is great for creating engagement.
Remember, this does not need to be complicated. You want to keep things simple when posting on social media. Look at what other people are doing to create engagement and model them. Keep a journal for your notes. Don’t copy their post. Look at their idea and how they’re using it. Then model their framework, not the actual post itself. If you copy the post, make sure you tag and give the person credit for their work. Then expand your thoughts on their original post.
