How To Not Suck At Marketing

Let’s talk about marketing. First, let’s look at the importance of marketing overall. One of the most common mistakes I see network marketers make is not thinking like a marketer. Marketing (regardless of the business you’re in) is critical to having success in the long run. Marketing is all about getting people’s attention and drawing them into your world. And in today’s training, I will share a couple of tips with you on how to start becoming a better marketer. Most importantly, how to not suck at marketing :-)If you’re thinking I’m a “network marketer,” I don’t need to know “marketing.” You’ve just nailed your feet to the floor. Why? Because the average network marketer thinks it’s all about prospecting. Prospecting is also known as “outbound marketing.” This means you’re reaching out to people, which is vital in this business. Marketing is all about attracting people to you. This is also known as “inbound marketing.” You want to use BOTH methods for keeping your pipeline full. Let’s get started, and I’ll show you how to do this…

The Shortcut For Becoming A Better Marketer

So how do we get good at marketing and do it quickly? The simple answer is we study good marketing. A quick way to do this is by researching top marketing books online. Amazon is a great place to start. Check out the reviews for top marketing books based on people buying them and giving their thoughts. Please watch my video above because I will give you a few good marketing and advertising book titles. What you want to start doing is training yourself to SEE good marketing.

Social media is a great place to see good marketing. YouTube is another good place. If you’ve ever found yourself looking something up on YouTube, and before you know it, you’re clicking on the ad from the video… pay attention to that ad. Ask yourself these questions:1) What was it about this ad that grabbed your attention? 2) What did the headline say that stopped me in my tracks? 3) What was the process that I went through after I clicked on the ad? This can happen off of social media as well. Start keeping a file of other people’s marketing. This is called a swipe file. The goal with a swipe file is NOT TO COPY other people’s marketing. The goal is to MODEL it for your own business. This means you’re not taking their words, and you’re modeling the idea and using your images, words, metaphors, and concepts. Think of your swipe file like your own idea files. Now, go out there and start modeling good marketing. Start getting people into your world who want to learn more about your products and services. Then start reaching out and connecting with them. If you’d like more help with your marketing, I’d highly recommend becoming part of our Fearless Networker Insider program.
