There’s a phrase I say all the time…“Marry the process and divorce the results.” This phase has served me well over the past three decades in network marketing. In today’s training, I will share with you how to “rejection proof” your prospecting. You’ll discover an entirely new side to prospecting. One where you’re not affected if the prospect doesn’t do what they say they’re going to do. Let’s get started with today’s training.
Pursuing The Process, And Keeping Focus
Look, I understand…Prospecting isn’t fun at times, and I get it. It’s no fun when people are rude or lie to you. Saying they’ll look at the business and never get back to you. Here’s the thing… We can’t control other people. We can ONLY control ourselves and how we feel. Therefore, we must master our emotions and state of mind when prospecting. We control our energy, not the prospect. If the prospect says something negative, we can choose to accept it or ignore it. The key here is to understand we’re in control, not the prospect. So how do we do this? Great question. It all starts with being married to the process of prospecting and not getting attached to the outcome we have with our prospect. We must stay focused on the task at hand, which is getting the information into our prospects hands. This is all about…
Removing The Friction From Prospecting
Something magical happens when you let go of the outcome. All the friction seems to melt away from prospecting. You know you’ll have success regardless of this one prospect. Why? Because you’re in control of yourself and your activities. You’re not concerned with what the prospect SAYS. You’re focused on the prospect's ACTIONS and what they do. You don’t count your money until it’s in the bank. This means if a prospect tells you they’re going to join your business or buy your product, that’s great. You’re not going to tie any emotion to this until they do what they say they’re doing. Even when they do sign up or buy your product, you’re still going to control your emotions. You want to get to the point where it’s okay if they join or choose not to. This all happens when you’re NOT attached to the outcome. You want to have this state of mind…Bring your positive energy to all situations so you’re positively impacting others. This is all part of having a Fearless mindset!
