Geralyn CamarilloIn this Fearless Networker Spotlight, we're featuring Geralyn Camarillo and Arna Johnson, a dynamic duo who have been involved with the Network Marketing industry for over 21 years.  During that time, these two diligently worked with seven different companies before finding their true passion and success.

The Fearless Networker:  Geralyn and Arna, in the past three years you have personally sponsored over 180 individuals and built an organization of 21,000!  How do you successfully recruit new people to your team?

Geralyn Camarillo and Arna Johnson:  We built our organization using Facebook. This is how we were able to build in several different markets across the nation at once.  Our leading product line shows noticeable, positive results in just 10 days so Facebook was the perfect platform to pique interest by showcasing people’s before and after photos accompanied by their story in a “non-salesy” way.  We are extremely careful about how posts are written and we leverage the voyeurism aspect of FaceBook.

Arna JohnsonWe also have a clever gift card marketing system that made it easy to share a gift card code and gift someone a $50 discount to get them started with the company.  We teach people how to tell their story effectively through social gratitude, which is basically giving thanks to your sponsor for sharing a $50 gift card and subsequently for the amazing health benefits you received because they cared enough to share.  This method has worked really well for us because you can see results in such a short amount of time.

But before Facebook or any type of social media became a part of our lives, it really comes down to creating and maintaining relationships.  Our net worth is in our network.  We have a true love for people and our connections.  Even when we were financially suffering we never felt less than wealthy because of the friendships and relationships we have with so many loving people.

The Fearless Networker:  What was your biggest struggle or roadblock on your way to achieving success in this profession, and how did you overcome it?

Geralyn Camarillo and Arna Johnson:  Our limiting belief around money.  The belief was that by having lots of money, a person must be greedy and only cared about themselves.  And, we thought that it’s only the people at the top who make any money in Network Marketing.

However, we saw that there were people we knew making five figure checks monthly.  They were good and deserving people who worked really hard to make that kind of money.  So, we began shifting our beliefs around money by reading books, listening to audios and training our minds to think differently.  We hung out with people who lived the lifestyles we wanted to live and envisioned a lifestyle for ourselves of being able to do the things we wanted to do, like taking our family members on trips, and making improvements on our home.Geralyn Camarillo

When we signed up with our current company three years ago, we were at that place in life where we had that burning desire and were desperate to make it work out this time.  In our fifth month of working the business, we made our first five figure check!  This time it was the perfect recipe for success…we fell in love with the products, had amazing support from our up-team, and we were motivated and determined to succeed.  We were no strangers to hard work and breaking through our excuses.  The region we were in was growing rapidly so we built from event to event.

Arna JohnsonThe Fearless Networker:  When it comes to building your group, what have been some of the most effective actions you’ve taken to help your team grow?

Geralyn Camarillo and Arna Johnson:  Promoting team and company events, weekly and daily team conference calls, staying connected via Zoom and calls, incentives, Team Live Aloha events (day at the beach, gratitude luncheon, etc.), and teach others to support and help others to succeed.

The Fearless Networker:  So, are their specific strategies or actions that you’ve implemented into growing your business that are exceptionally productive?

Geralyn CamarilloGeralyn Camarillo and Arna Johnson:  Help others to succeed and you will succeed. Help them to succeed with the program.  The sooner you help a new team member get paid, their level of belief shoots up.  Get team members to EVENTS!  Three way calls (connect calls) with up-team support are a must.  We built fast in the beginning because of this tool.  Most of our team is on the mainland so it was hard to do home presentations in the beginning.  So, we utilized connect calls.  These calls were for prospects AND new team members being introduced to up-team.  When people know that they are part of a community and are supported, they will commit and be active in their business.

The Fearless Networker:  In your last two answers you mentioned the importance of “helping others to succeed”.  In addition to that suggestion, what’s one piece of advice you’d give someone entering this Arna Johnsonprofession for the very FIRST time?

Geralyn Camarillo and Arna Johnson:  OOOOO…ONE piece is hard, Brother Man…

PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT!  Be a farmer, not a hunter.  Be authentic and genuine…it’s about having relationships with people.  Stay plugged in to your team and company’s system, tools and up-team support.  Be coachable and open to guidance.  Have the hats of student and teacher.  Never stop learning.

The Fearless Networker:  Solid!  Do you have any suggestions for people to ensure that they make Network Marketing a lasting and successful business to pursue for a lifetime?

Geralyn Camarillo and Arna Johnson:  Work on yourself.  Engage in personal development and discover who you REALLY are and what you’re capable of; give yourself permission to grow!  Stay plugged in to the system, up-team, company and tools.  Do what you need to do to build belief in Network Marketing, your company, the products and most of all YOURSELF.  And lastly, help others to succeed and you will succeed!

Geralyn CamarilloThe Fearless Networker:  What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received that’s served you well in business?

Geralyn Camarillo and Arna Johnson:  To follow the system and allow the tools to do the talking for you, get people to events, and most of all…believe in yourself.

The Fearless Networker:  Speaking of belief, what was your biggest fear as you started your Network Marketing career?

Geralyn Camarillo and Arna Johnson:  Our biggest fear was not knowing enough.  Not being strong enough as leaders, especially because everything was still so new to us.  And not wanting to make mistakes and lead our team in the wrong direction.

Arna JohnsonThe Fearless Networker:  How has being involved in Network Marketing changed your life?

Geralyn Camarillo and Arna Johnson:  It’s helped us gain more confidence, work through our fears, step up to the challenges, find our voice, learn how to work with different people and personality types, communicate more effectively, be transformational leaders, and feel rewarded by helping others find their magnificence that resides within them. Helping others to succeed is a phenomenal reward!  We love who we are becoming while we work and play in this profession.

Help others to succeed and you will succeed.  — Geralyn Camarillo and Arna Johnson

The Fearless Networker:  I'm curious, what is your favorite business book of all time?

Geralyn Camarillo and Arna Johnson:  Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill.  Favorite Network Marketing specific books would be The Miracle Morning for Network Marketers by Hal Elrod and Pat Petrini and Go Pro: 7 Steps to Becoming a Network Marketing Professional by Eric Worre.

When people know that they are part of a community and are supported, they will commit and be active in their business.  — Geralyn Camarillo and Arna Johnson

Geralyn JohnsonThe Fearless Networker:  If you could share anything that would massively impact the people reading this, what would you say?

Geralyn Camarillo and Arna Johnson:  Personal growth is key because when you grow, your business grows.  Personal growth also relates to your relationships, be it with yourself, prospects, and/or team members.  This is a relationship business.  Don’t make yourself the issue, because your business is not about you.  You have the tools, systems, leadership, etc. to support you in your success.  But it won’t mean a thing if you don’t get out of your own way.  Break through your own limiting beliefs and shift your paradigm for a better YOU.

The Fearless Networker:  WOW!  Geralyn and Arna, thank you so much for sharing.  A hui hou kakou.  Mahalo!
