People ask me ALL the time...and I mean that people LITERALLY ask me this same question ALL the time:
"Todd...when is the BEST TIME to follow up with a prospect?"
Someone who has a background in sales may think that question is silly, but most people who get into network marketing aren't professional sales people or have any background in selling. It's a legitimate question.
When is the BEST TIME to follow up with a prospect?
I'll answer it this way. But first...
Say this to yourself, "It's not what I want that matters...it's always what my prospect wants."
One thing I've learned in this business is this. It's NEVER about you.
It's about your people and what THEY want for themselves.
Zig Ziglar said it best,
"You can have everything in life you want,
if you just help enough people get what they want."
That's the NATURE of network marketing, helping people get what they want...and follow up isn't really any different.
I'm not saying that you can't schedule it. You should. You should absolutely schedule and book firm follow up calls and appointments.
So...when IS the best time to follow up with a prospect??
My short answer is always, "as soon as possible." But...
...how soon IS possible? It depends.
Ideally, you want to get back to the person the moment, the very second they got done reviewing whatever additional information you sent them while it is still hot and fresh on their minds.
If you wait two days...you're too late.
The BEST TIME to get back to them is the MOMENT they got done watching or reviewing your information.
There's a second and very important part to this.
#1: Get to them AS SOON as POSSIBLE.
#2: Do it at a time that is convenient for them!
You want to be getting back to them when it works for them. Trying to pressure someone into a conversation when they aren't ready or don't have the time to spend with you isn't going to work very well. Find a time that is convenient for them....AND as soon as possible.
Book firm appointments.
Do it quickly.
Make sure it works for them.
Gain Greater Control of your Follow up...
Do you know when your prospect opens up your email?
Do you have any idea if they clicked on the link you sent them?
Did they watch your presentation? If so...when did they do it?
Did they watch 2-minutes? 30-seconds? All of it?
