Is Facebook your One and Only Recruiting Strategy?

This isn't “pick on Facebook” week.  Facebook is an amazing tool that enables us to do things we've never been able to do before in network marketing…or in any business for that matter.

The ability to reach, connect and create new relationships across the globe is unprecedented in our lives because of Facebook.  And…I'd highly suggest that you learn to effectively recruit and build your network marketing business on Facebook if you haven't done so already.

But…if Facebook is your one and only recruiting strategy, you're creating weakness.

I mentioned in my post yesterday how important it is to NOT provide 100% of your team training on support on Facebook…for one simple reason.  It is a FREE platform.  And…FREE comes with a price.  No control.

The same goes for your recruiting strategy.  Their shouldn't be…ONE.  You should never have ONE recruiting strategy.

You want to have multiple recruiting strategies or reaching out methods in your arsenal.  And…I'd say the same thing about ANY recruiting strategy.  If you have ONE…you're done.

You don't want to be a one-trick pony.  In other words…if recruiting on Facebook is ALL you've got, you're missing a bigger piece of the pie.  If working warm market is all you've got, what happens when it dries up?  If doing Meetups is your only thing, what happens when you've tapped out your local Meetup market?

If all you are doing is recruiting on Facebook and you can't do it anywhere else, you're creating weakness in yourself and in your people.

What happens when the rules change?  Oh…wait.  They already have!  Perhaps you've noticed that your posts aren't being seen as much as they were three or four years ago.  Facebook changes the rules and you've got no say in the matter.

What you DO have control over is what you choose to do and what you teach your team to do.  Smart marketers teach multiple reaching out and marketing methods that their team can employ to grow their businesses.  It's simple common sense.  That way you're not on the short side of the stick from throttling, algorithm changes…or any other things that cause your reach to diminish.  Remember…FREE gives you no control.  You need to be 100% in control of your recruiting efforts.

My advice to you is that you are teaching a well-rounded approach to your recruiting efforts…not just teaching people to hide behind the computer and push buttons.   Again…it works.  And…it works super well for many people.  But, if it's all you got, there are problems in your future.

Success in any business requires having a myriad of approaches to growing sales and revenue.  That way…if one source dries up, you're still in business.

Here's a very simple litmus test…

How would your business be affected if you no longer had access to Facebook?
Would it be as if nothing happened, or would you be in a panic?

If you'd be in a panic as a result of it…that's a really good sign that you are relying too heavily on Facebook as a recruiting mechanism.

It might be time for you to make some changes.
