Why Your Team is Not Producing

In network marketing, it’s not unusual to see teams struggle with production, but the reasons behind it are often rooted in overlooked fundamentals.  It doesn’t have to be that complicated or hard.

If you've ever wondered why your team isn't producing, it’s time to dig deeper into the mindset, leadership, and structures you have in place.

Let’s break down what may be holding your team back from improving their performance, giving you clear, actionable strategies to get everyone on the path to greater productivity.

The Real Reasons Your Team Isn’t Producing

  1. Lack of Belief and Vision
Teams that lack a clear sense of belief in the mission or vision often struggle to find motivation. When people aren’t connected to a compelling “why,” their actions become lackluster. As a leader, it's critical to convey a vision that inspires belief and commitment from each team member.  As simplistic as getting someone to connect to that ‘why that makes them cry’, the results by doing so are deep and profound.  You need to know what DRIVES people, not the shallow ‘want to get out of debt’ mentality.  What would make you break through any wall, barrier or osbstable…no matter how daunting it is to get to what you want.  It’s the WHY that drives you.
  2. Unclear Expectations and Communication
Many teams struggle simply because they don’t understand what's expected of them. Leaders often assume everyone knows what to do, but clear communication about goals and daily actions is essential. Lay out exactly what success looks like and reinforce it regularly.
  3. Missing Accountability
Accountability is a cornerstone of success in network marketing. You hear me say it over and over again if you plug into me on a regular basis.  Without it, even the most motivated individuals can lose momentum. Encourage accountability at all levels—whether through check-ins, progress tracking, or pairing members to support each other.
  4. Poor Onboarding and Training
A strong start matters. If new recruits are not provided with proper onboarding and ongoing training, they’ll flounder and, ultimately, may quit. Make sure that each person joining your team understands the roadmap to success and has access to necessary resources from day one.
  5. Leadership Gaps
Your team’s productivity often reflects your leadership. Self-assess: are you leading by example? Are you actively supporting your team? When leadership is engaged, supportive, and leads with integrity, team members are far more likely to follow suit.
  6. Limited Recognition and Rewards
People need to feel valued and recognized for their hard work. Acknowledging both big and small successes not only boosts morale but motivates team members to continue striving toward their goals.

Systems, processes and simplicity.  Burn that into your brain permanently.  It’s how you achieve true duplication in network marketing.

Ultimately, transforming your team's productivity requires focusing on communication, training, and accountability. By making a few key adjustments, you can help your team shift from underperforming to unstoppable.
